Build the skills you need to earn a high school equivalency degree or succeed in your career at the ACE Center. Our supportive staff will help you prepare for the GED or HiSET exams, college courses, and even the workforce! Our engaging programs are free and assist you in reaching your academic goals.
Want to improve your English or reading skills? We offer free programs for English language learners, adults who want to improve their literacy skills, and families who want their children to become better readers. At the ACE Center, we're with you every step of the way.
Our Services
High School Equivalency Exam Prep
Prepare for the GED® or HiSET® exams with our free test preparation classes and expert guidance.
English Language Learner Program
If you are a non-native English speaker, our ELL program will help you improve your language skills and build confidence.
Adult Literacy
If you struggle with reading or writing, we offer classes to improve your literacy skills.
Family Literacy Classes
We believe that reading should be a family activity! Our literacy classes encourage families to read and learn together.
College Preparation
Get ready to advance your education by building important skills to thrive in college.
Career Exploration and Skills
Discover different careers that you can pursue and learn important workplace skills, such as customer service and leadership.
Onboarding Dates
GED®, HiSET®, Literacy, Spanish GED®, or ESL Sessions:
8-hour session with a 1-hour lunch break
- January 7, 2025 - 8:00 a.m.
- January 8, 2025 - 8:00 a.m.
- January 9, 2025 - 8:00 a.m.
Additional Onboarding Information
- All onboarding sessions are hosted in person at the ACE Center at 3401 E. 30th St., Suite B
- You are required to attend the entire session
- Required documents for the onboarding session:
- Valid government-issued picture ID
- Social Security or Tax ID card
- If you are 16 or 17 years old, read this section
- If you are 16 or 17 years old, you must complete Underage Consent Form prior to attending an onboarding session. The consent form must be completed and signed by required parties. We cannot legally serve any student under the age of 16. Email the completed form with signatures to acecenter@315tccs.com or deliver it to our office.
Approved New Mexico Exams for High School Equivalency
You can earn the New Mexico High School Equivalency Certificate by taking the General Education Development Test (GED®) or the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET®).
The GED® exam is computer-based and has four subject areas:
- Mathematical Reasoning
- Reasoning Through Language Arts
- Science
- Social Studies
The HiSET® test can be a combination of computer-based or paper/pencil. It has five subject areas:
- Language Arts - Reading
- Language Arts - Writing
- Science
- Social Studies
- Mathematics

At the ACE Center, we believe that literacy is key to success. That's why we provide programs to help families improve their reading and writing skills together. Through the "Look It Up" service project, we've distributed over 100,000 dictionaries to third graders in the area.
